King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals is a public university in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. Among Saudi universities, its science, engineering, and business/management programs are the most highly regarded in the country as well as in the whole region.

Recently, King Fahd University invested in Oklin’s GG100s food waste composter to compost food waste generated from one of their cafeterias. Food waste is collected by the kitchen, and at the end of the day, emptied into Oklin’s unit.

The composter reduces waste volume by 80-90%, so that the machine becomes full once a week. Dedicated staff members then empty the compost from the machine, and the groundskeeping team collects the compost to use on school grounds.
